I don’t have all that much for you about the Jewish Museum on Fifth Avenue except to say:

– Truthfully, we only went there because the nearby Neue Gallery was closed.
– I never much dug the name, it always reminded me of The Colored Museum, but what else could you call it?
– The CPH Gilbert-designed Warburg mansion exterior is extraordinary, and the layout on the inside is top notch, too.
– The current Alex Katz show is a wowza.
– The permanant collection. . .well. . .how many seder plates can one man look at?
– Get the headsets. Audio commentary by Bob Balaban, Brian Lehrer and Leonard Nimoy!! I’m kvelling.
– I had to mop up drool when I saw this in the giftshop: a 3 disc set of 10 conversations between Richard Heffner and Elie Wiesel on such topics as “Personal Freedom and Public Morals,” “The Effective Use of Knowledge” and “The Morality of Retribution.” Ohmigod I think I am going to faint.
