Inception-hallway-Joseph-Gordon-Levitt

So I saw Inception a second time and, alas, I am ready to admit that it is not a perfect picture.

Ellen Page’s character truly has no real world motivation to behave the way she does – other than to flash in neon questions from the peanut gallery. And some of the editing in the dialogue-heavy moments is really choppy. The performances just don’t flow. You don’t notice it the first time ’cause everything else about the movie is so cool and the suits look awesome and the music is so intense.

I still really love this movie, though – however, it is not a work of genius.
