Bo Diddley doesn’t just tour with a middle-aged female in his band, he tours wih TWO middle-aged females in his band. (Bass and Hammond B3.) Truly radical.
He also tells stories about how the Bo Diddley beat keeps a lunchmeat sandwich in his ice box and farina in his bowl.
And he gives the most embarrasing rap since Rodney Dangerfield.

My rule is that you generally don’t want to see any rock and rollers after they turned 60. Sure there are a handful that beat the odds, but if you have seen them in their younger days, all they will do is disappoint , unless you are a hopeless nostalgiast . I saw Bo a handful of times in the 80’s and was amazed how vital and energetic he was. ( He had a female rythmn guitarist in tow) . I saw him
at the Bottom Line in NYC about 6 years ago, and it was embarrassingly bad. His playing had lost its verve, and he rambled on in between songs. He even tried an embarrasing rap.
his rap was better than rodney dangerfield’s. it was kind of like a sugerhill gang rap. he definately got out his rhyming dictionary. signed ann
