If you find yourself in midtown, pop into the public atrium of the IBM building on Madison and 57th. There you’ll find the Uberorgan.
Designed by Tim Hawkinson (part of his current show at the Whitney, that Ann & I are seeing this weekend) it is a giant collection of tubes and valves with a piano roll-esque scroll of paint on tissue paper. It makes wild flatulence noises every hour on the hour, and at 12:30. It’s really cool! (The first time. The second time, kinda annoying.) It’s there until the end of the month.
