It took me until the end of the picture to realize that Gael Garcia Bernal reminded me of Alain Delon. Also — this is the same exact movie as “Y Tu Mama Tambien,” except that was a little lighter on the human suffering and had more sex. I liked that film more. But this is very, very good. The photography is wonderful and the friendship between the two men is warm and true. And hats off for being a BIG movie — touring a whole continent — but still managing to be intimate — the friendship of two buddies, the political awakening of one young man. They do make Che out to be the second coming though, don’t they? They leave out the part where he will eventually be known for his summary executions of believed counter-revolutionairies.
