I was thinking my admiration for Sunshine would dim a little seeing it on DVD, but I think I liked it just as much as last time. It is a definite classic, and if you know about the slightly disappointing turns of the third act it somehow takes the edge off of it.
Now, I don’t have too much experience with the Saw films, but what I do know of that ilk is that you don’t have that much attachment to the characters. Therefore, I’d have to think that Sunshine has some of the most awful death scenes in movie-dom. Because, let’s face it, for all the high-tech and hard SF and great design, this movie is essentially The Poseidon Adventure in space.
