Hats off to Leila M. Nelson and the marvelous Cedar Lake Ensemble for their workshop of “Raw,” a collection of modern dance, poetry, film, EPCOT-esque moving seats and drama. This was the only time I’d seen a piece of theater wherein a woman was raped in iambic pentameter, men bounced off of brick walls, an escaping soldier dangled from a ceiling and died hovering over me, and a mixed-up pair of kids from different sides of the tracks were trapped in a meat locker a la Benson. Trust me, it worked. The rest of the run is sold out, but keep an eye out for their next production.
