I’m still trying to deal with this movie in my mind. I know that I love it, I’m just trying to decide if I’m willing to go bananas and start proselytizing for it. (Ironic, because it is about Cistercian Monks, who don’t proselytize.)
Not since The Mission have I seen a better depiction of Catholicism on Film. It’s a gorgeous picture, one likely to bore a lot of people. . .but I think it is magical.
More to come on this – I was lucky enough to see this on long lead so I have until the end of February to get my full review in shape.
