I feel much like I did when I saw his in 2005 – this would be a perfect movie if the last 10 minutes weren’t so heavy-handed. It’s kinda funny that a movie that smells so message specific is so intentionally ambivalent. But, it’s like, REALLY ambivalent – ya know? (But the sweaty sex scene still gets unintentional laughs. How could he have left that in? Why did he feel the need to wreck an almost perfect movie??!?)
All this aside – a deeply philosophical movie that is still loaded with slam-bam action and awesome performances. (Amalric FTW!)
