What’s more surprising, that I watched this a second time or that I actually kinda dug it? The video looks better on DVD than it did projected, I’ll say that much (even though the occassional focus flubs still bug me.) I still think this should be 2, not 3 hours – and I know exactly what to cut! Would this movie lose anything if all those Polish scenes went away? Or at least all those shots of wandering through hallways. Please! Trim! Or limit yourself to one hallway per reel. Ah, well, when I make MY surrealist examination of femininity in cinema and culture, it’ll be different.
