I have not watched this from end to end in 20 years. And then it was on VHS.
Lemme tell you something: this movie isn’t that bad.
Now, I’ve never read the books (and you can practically smell the giant chunks of unexplored side-stories that didn’t make it into the theatrical cut) but, heck, there’s enough in here to keep you entertained.
I think it is actually a nice blend of Lynchian weirdness and straight-up studio popcorn. Too bad he never deigned to sell out a second time.
