If you are up for three packed floors of “Oh, shit, isn’t that clever!?!?” then I strongly recommend this show. Definitely the most fun thing I’ve seen all year and and, probably, will see all year. From robotic dogs to lavish Motel 6s to a singing staircase to a window that lights up and projects pixellated images of trees to a vase you can leave notes on that shines a la a roller rink disco ball to a performance of Mahler’s “Leider eines fahrenden Gesellen” on what looks like the set from the first half of Russell Banks’ novel “Rule of the Bone” — the show is one goofy bit of kinda-useful fun after another. The museum itself (the old Carnegie mansion) is draped in recycled plastic assembled into Steinway St.-esque fake flowers.

Also on display: the largest collection of staircase models. From the private collection of Eugene and Clair Thaw that, for some reason, had all 4 of us in stitches for some reason.
