Kinda idiotic. Even though I usually like episodes that a) involve the mundane facts about life in the federation (in this case, a shore leave planet) and b) have lots of Scotty — this is, well, as I say, kinda idiotic. It’s the one where the ghost of Jack the Ripper is floating around. Yeah, you may have seen it and tried to forget about it. And then McCoy has to dope everyone up with happy pills ’cause Jack lives off of fear. Yeah. kinda idiotic.
I disagree with you here. The acting was suspect for sure. But the idea that an entity had been responsible for all of the serial killings and had followed man out to the stars was very clever.
Why not? I think that whatever our imaginations come up with it will not even come close to whatever is really out there.
I agree with Sven that the *idea* re: Jack the Ripper was intriguing, but the execution was full of plot holes; for example: either Scotty DID kill the women under “Redjac’s” influence, or else there is NO reason why he couldn’t remember what happened
