The “V For Vendetta” posters may be the coolest ad campaign of all time. I’m no fan of the Wachowskis (I think “Bound” is decent, “Matrix” is atrocious and I never saw the sequels) and was not planning to see this film. But as soon as these posters popped up around town, I changed my mind. Now — seriously, I’m gunning for opening night.
One thing gives me pause — the last time I saw a movie for its poster was Sky Captain. . .and in retrospect, I question if that was a good move.
How can you talk about these posters without mentioning the Stenberg brothers?

Also: forget the sequels–there can be no denying that “The Matrix” is a classic at this point.
I’m very curious to see what the Wachowski’s did to the Alan Moore story. Word is that it’s ripe with 9/11 references… and how could it not be?
Yeah — that is cool shit. That’s the point, these posters are using signifiers (!) that aren’t often scene in avg. movie poster.s
