A fascinating topic, a good (but not great) film. Paul Provenza knows dick about making a good documentary, but if you had an experienced director in there you would never have the access (or the trust) that a seasoned fellow comic could get. The Aristocrats joke is all about timing and, unfortunately, some of the timing is off. Some moments truly sing: Sarah Silverman, the South Park cartoon, Gilbert Gottfried and Pat Cooper were highlights for me. Also, listening to George Carlin is like listening to Confucius. He is one of the greatest minds I’ve ever been exposed to. (No I am not kidding.) Anyway, a little repetitive, but worth looking at if you are fascinated by comedy.
