Considered by many to be the greatest Trek comics arc, this lengthy trade paperback collection is set during the time between the fade-out of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. As it was written before TVH‘s release, there are a few things about it that would later be proven apocryphal by the later film’s release – but not so much to make this story unreadable. The story is this: The ISS Enterprise (which you, of course, remember from the TOS episode Mirror, Mirror) has figured a way to zap from the Mirror Universe into OUR Universe. The idea is that the Evil Kirk wants to squash his wussy alter-ego and colonize our world. Jerks!!

There are so many wheels-within-wheels of double-agents (and reverse-double-agents, considering it is the Mirror Universe) it would be nigh impossible to synopsize (although a valiant effort is made here.) Keep in mind that when Spock and Evil Spock do a mind-meld some crazy-ass shit goes down. The most fun, I must confess though, is seeing Saavik in her “evil Saavik” uniform. Who knew she was such a dish!??
