I know that it’s a bad pun, but this film sets up a chain reaction in terms of inconsistencies that would plague the series to its final installment. Greatest amoung them is the year contradiction (Taylor’s chronometer in the prior film read “11-25-3978”, but Brent tells his skipper that their chronometer read “3955” before they blacked out. Then there’s Dr. Zaius treating Zira and Cornelius like old friends even though days before ( near the end of the previous film), he said that they were going to be tried for heresy for proposing that apes evolved from humans. These aside, it’s still fun romp. C’mon. I mean Chuck blows up the planet. How can you lose?
