It is axiomatic: when everyone tells you a movie sucks, but it is actually kinda all right, the experience is quite a joy. “BASEketball” is retarded, but there are some really clever jokes in there — and Trey Parker and Matt Stone (who did not write the film) seem to be having such a good time milking every moment for comedy that you can’t help but laugh. Nowhere near as good as “Airplane!” or “The Naked Gun,” but you can definitely tell it came from the same brain. What can I say? I liked “BASEketball” and if that means you think lower of me, well, so be it.
