Rock. The most famous experimental film that isn’t “Mothlight” works on so many different levels. One could write a hundred page thesis on perception and narrative expectation — but how about just that this movie looks cool! In a day before rock videos or screensavers, this was the only opportunity you’d get to stare at far out moving pictures for any extended period of time. Add to this the veneer of lower Manhattan loft space and some groovily decked out chicks and you’ve got a 45 minute zoom into some cool, cool shit. I can’t deny that I buy this.
