I’d like to formally apologize to any of my readers who listened to me in 2003 when I gave this movie a “C+” — I was duped! It was a mistake! I’m sorry! Are you mad at me??! Seriously, when I caught this on cable the other day I was really taken with just how enjoyable this movie is. Which is kinda sick. . .’cause you’re just watching someone implode very, very slowly. I don’t know if it is schadenfreude or a reverse-wish fulfillment or what but it is a lot of fun to watch this movie. And, I think, it actually is an important story and. . .even more interesting, perhaps. . .a very good time capsule of the late 90s. Those years post-Lewinsky/pre-Osama are very specific years and this film nails it. Has anyone read Glass’ book?
