A male fantasy on film. Cheat on your wife with a hot young thing then go back to her when you are done. Somehow this is considered romantic. I’d like to see a feminist perspective on this film. Anyway, Ingrid Bergman is adorable in this one, looking very young and pounding her burgeoning sexuality onto a keyboard. Gregg Toland’s photography is gorgeous as well.

It’s an interesting movie. I came out of it feeling both sympathy for the wife and for the mistress, but not a lot for the man. So much more can be said, but it’ll come off as sounding like a bitter feminist, which I’m not, so it’s best left at that. 🙂
