I-Saw-the-Devil05

I avoided many opportunities to see this in the theater because I had been warned about severe violence and kinda wanted to see it in the safety of my own home.

And guess what: it’s gross. And brutal. I’m glad I waited. And it isn’t just sinew and gristle, it’s some heavy emotional stuff.

It’s also a little silly (some of the bombastic music – some of the places the storyline travels to) but it is also a movie that marches with determined speed to a very dark place and somehow sells it as (mostly) believable. It answers the question, what could possibly be the most determined act of vengeance for the most ruthless act of violence. And it’s not for the weak.
