If I was still the type of guy to spend money on CDs I’d be very happy with the purchase of the much ballyhooed debut by The Killers. It sounds even better off of LimeWire.

It had the same effect on me when I heard a track (“All These Things That I Have Done”) that was playing over the sound system at the Virgin Megastore on Union Square. The song just floored me. Immediately bought the album, which was on sale for $9.99.
… and I ended up selling it two months later. This stuff isn’t bad … it’s just that those of us of-age in the 80s have been here before, and better. I got no problem with this sort of stuff, especially compared to the morbid shit being sold to kids, but compared to the first time I heard what would become a classic INXS or Smiths track? Forget it!
