dogtooth

Among the many exciting things about Dogtooth is that it seems to be catching on with people slowly. You know, how a real cult film is supposed to – not just shot out of a pre-marketed canon.

It is thematically fascinating, subtle, layered and loaded with interpretive meaning and . . .humor. Sick, disgusting humor, but humor nonetheless. It reminds me, for reasons I can’t quite place, like Todd Haynes’ Safe with some Godardian spice tossed in.

Visually, the diffuse lighting, odd camera placement and irregular editing are a nice breath of fresh air. Can’t wait for more people to see this one. . .
