There’s a lot of crazy shit going on with Batman right now. Bruce Wayne is flying through time and there are 17 other Dick Grayson stories happening at once – some of which are involved in the over-arcing Brightest Day story, some not (heck, Batman Beyond is in the future.)
Detective Comics has been doing their best to steer clear of all that Multiverse shit and just tell cool, small Batman stories. The last one that just wrapped up was a 4-issue arc that I think is some great, dark storytelling with some fine, evocative art.
It’s a revenge tale that makes a pretty good case for all of Gotham City’s woes (and, man, that city does have an awful lot of woes) is actually Batman’s fault. Ain’t that a stinker?
