You don’t need me to tell you what a cool guy Alexander Hamilton was. An abolitionist mixed-race bastard who loved cities and social programs, he admitted to sexual dalliances long before Bill Clinton made it popular. But did you know that his house, the only house he ever owned, is up in Harlem, waiting for you to check it out? It is truly remarkable to see an old Colonial style house pop up in the middle of a city block. You can even go at 1 pm on a Saturday — the usual apex of tourist crowds — and be the only ones in the place. It will also give you an opportunity to visit one of the lovelier sections of Manhattan:
