My subway rides will never be the same — or long enough. Thanks to the miracle of Podcasting, I can now listen to the Brian Lehrer Show whenever I want, wherever I want. This is, no question, the coolest thing in the world.

I’ve tried out a couple of podcasts. The technology is really slick, but I haven’t found any that I actually want to listen to. When it comes down to it, I’d always rather hear music I pick myself.
Air America, Democracy Now!, Echoes, and TheMusicNeverStopped.net were nice and all, but I haven’t accumulated 260 GB of music so I can listen to Al Franken rant at 96kbps. But I’m sure there’ll be more interesting content coming at us this way soon. Essentially, it’s Tivo for radio. Apparently the true bleeding edge geeks have moved on to BitTorrent subscriptions hooked up to RSS feeds.
