Here’s one way to a make a Neelix episode palatable. It can be about him, just don’t have him on screen. If it means a freakazoid Orchid-inspired transporter accident fusing his DNA with Tuvok, then so be it.
Neelix, when half-Tuvok and performed by another actor, is almost allowable.
Hats off to this episode for having a dark-as-hell ending and showing Janeway making tough Laura Roslin-like decision.
