Shattered Mirror, DS9 4
I love the Mirror Universe. It was Mirror, Mirror that turned me into a full-fledged Trek enthusiast and I’ve gobbled up the other Mirror episodes, comics, etc.
So I feel like if you are going into the Mirror Universe you gotta earn it. And I don’t think this episode does.
I feel it is too easy for the “other side” to just come into our Universe and get us. Why is this such a one-way door? And what about the “other” Universes? The “Myriad” Universes, if you will?
Okay, that bit of nerdishness aside, it is great to see shorthair Dax and longhair Bashir and silver-pants sexed up Kira. And I like that (spoiler alert!) Sisko’s “wife” is now out of the picture. It never felt real to me that he would just leave her there. Also: one of the few episodes to make good use of Jake Sisko. And hearing “evil” Worf bark, “Make It So!” is as nice a fanwank as you’ll ever see.
