I am not the world’s biggest fan of Anime. My friend Kareem Harper would argue that that is like saying I’m not a fan of movies – that Anime is a medium, not a form, and that all stories can and are told through Anime. That may be true; maybe it’s just that I can’t get past the bad, second rate voice acting in the American versions.
I’m trying to be more open to Anime – especially as it is becoming a job requirement – so this Starz produced doc seemed like a good re-introduction. Indeed, there are a lot of cool scenes here. In short doses, I can take it. But damned if I am going to sit through Paprika any time soon.
