The Game, TNG 5
Probably best known for being Ashley Judd’s first acting job, this is a standard The Blob-type story where only the crazy teenagers can tell that the adults are being taken over by pod people. The infecting agent is a “pleasure game,” with creepy shades of the movie Brainstorm. There are more orgasmic shudders in this episode than the entirety of the rest of Trek. Luckily they spare us from watching Worf. Data’s Deus ex Machina ending is kind’ve annoying but the rest of this episode is exciting — and Wesley and Ensign Lefler’s date and nerdish double entendres (”Your neutrinos are shifting”) is very cute.
